BIO

Alyssa Foglia is a professional dancer based in South Florida, Houston and New York. She is currently a company member with Social Movement Contemporary Dance Theatre, where she continues to expand her artistic voice through collaborative and socially-driven work.

Originally from South Florida, Alyssa began her dance training at the age of three and has since built a versatile background in ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, and hip hop. She holds degrees in Dance and Computer Science from the University of Florida, where she served as vice-president of the BFA Dance Department and directed the university’s Danza showcase.

Alyssa has performed repertoire by Paul Taylor, José Limón, Mark Morris, Doug Varone, David Parsons, and Trisha Brown. Her training has included intensives with the Parsons Dance, Trisha Brown, Giordano, Paul Taylor Dance Company, José Limón Dance Foundation, and The Protege Movement. She has worked with choreographers such as Doug Varone, Darrell Moultrie, Galen Hooks, Crystal Edwards, Michael Trusnovec, and Elijah Gibson.

In addition to live performance, Alyssa has explored the intersection of dance and technology, leading choreography and technical direction for projects bringing dance into virtual and metaverse spaces. She continues to thrive in spaces that blend innovation, artistry, and human connection.
